Hochzeit in Rot / Wedding in Red
I know I haven’t been around much for the last month or so. Have you missed me? Please say ‘Yes!’ even if it’s just to make me feel better as I have missed you all 😉
It’s funny how time just flies past. Our family business has been keeping me out of blogging mischief but that doesn’t mean I have stopped baking – oh NO!! Not in the least. If you have been following me on Facebook and Twitter you will see what baking mischief I have been up too.
Just quickly, here is my latest baking project and my 1st wedding event, well ok 2nd wedding but my 1st BIG wedding event.
Remember this wedding here last year? Well the couple held their large wedding reception this year in August and I had the honour once again to bake their wedding cake. Only this time instead of catering for 15 people it was for 200 people!
The theme of the wedding was ‘Hochzeit in Rot’ where guests were requested to wear a red accessory – how glam.
After a couple of meetings with the bride it was set that their wedding cake would be a lovely cupcake tower with a cake on top. The bride also had red feathers as decoration around the venue so I incorporated this into the cake decoration too.
Without much further ado I present to you my ‘Hochzeit in Rot’ wedding cake and cupcake tower.
The background is the wedding invitation and I made matching fondant cupcake toppers – hearts and flowers.
This beautiful filigree heart and embossed disc was created using silicon moulds available from Break The Mould.
Break The Mould makes all her moulds and she has a large variety. Just about anything you can thing of she has the mould for it to help you make you cake decorating that extra special.
‘Wenn ich alleine träume, ist es nur ein Traum. Wenn wir gemeinsam träumen, ist es der Anfang der Wirklichkeit’.
‘When I dream alone, it is just a dream. When we dream together, it is the beginning of something real’.
Vanilla cupcakes swirled with vanilla buttercream, recipe available here.
Sugar flowers and hearts graced the cupcake tower
The magnificent ball room of the Palais in Linz, built 1898.
Congratulations to the happy couple, may your dreams become a reality.
